Hindalco is considering a $1b rights issue to part finance the acquisition of Novelis, which it bought early in 2007.

Ashok Leyland plans to offer an “incentive” to its shareholders by allowing them to own a stake in its joint venture with Nissan Motor Co. Ashok Leyland, which will be investing Rs 600 crore in the joint venture.

Voltas Ltd on Tuesday announced acquisition of 50 per cent stake in Universal Comfort Products Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between Voltas and Fedders International Air-conditioning Ltd.
